AirGarage Automatic License Plate Recognition (LPR) Privacy Policy

A. Purpose and Scope

This Privacy Policy governs AirGarage’s collection, use, access, sharing, retention, and protection of Automated License Plate Recognition (“LPR”) information.

AirGarage operates LPR systems in connection with parking management services. This policy is intended to ensure that LPR information is handled in a manner consistent with respect for privacy and civil liberties and in compliance with applicable law, including California Civil Code §§ 1798.90.5 et seq.

This policy applies to all LPR systems operated or accessed by AirGarage and to all personnel with access to LPR information.

B. Definitions

LPR Information means license plate number data and associated date, time, and location information captured through an LPR system.

User-Provided License Plate Information means license plate numbers voluntarily entered by users into their AirGarage account for payment or parking session management purposes.


C. Notice of Collection

AirGarage posts signage at locations where LPR technology is used to provide notice that license plate information may be collected for parking operations.


D. Authorized Purposes

LPR information may be used solely for the following authorized purposes:

  1. Determining and processing parking fees
  2. Automatically activating and/or deactivating parking sessions
